TMIS Adolescent Community’s Christmas Dessert Event—A Sweet Success! We’re delighted to share that our Adolescent Community at TMIS wrapped up a wonderfully successful Christmas dessert sale! This time, our young entrepreneurs crafted Yule log cakes and Christmas wreath breads as their spotlight items, all while applying microeconomic concepts in a real-world setting. From brainstorming and cost analysis to ingredient sourcing, product design, hands-on baking, team collaboration, problem-solving, marketing, customer service, and finally tallying profits, they experienced every facet of running a “real market operation.” Customer feedback has proven to be our most meaningful measure of success. Instead of simply receiving a score on a test, our adolescents were evaluated by an actual market audience. They’re already planning future business models

ABOUT TMIS

Since 1984, we have upheld Dr. Montessori's core philosophy of "human development." Founded by Ms. Lam and starting with a kindergarten and MiCasa, we have seen many children excel in academics and social skills, earning significant parental recognition. Research, particularly by the renowned scholar Lillard, shows that Montessori education enhances children's executive functions, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities. TMIS is dedicated to providing a Montessori bilingual program for students aged 6 to 18, fostering an environment of freedom and love to maximize their academic and personal growth.

Children at TMIS enjoy a variety of club activities, including fencing, Capoeira play (aka Brazilian martial art), and ball games. Our children love to run and play outdoors in the spacious sports field of Minzu Elementary School, a nearby community partner. More daily physical exercise takes place indoors, regardless of the weather.

The moment you step into a classroom at TMIS, you will feel the brightly lit and spacious environment. You’ll see neatly arranged materials, equipment for scientific experiments, and child-size tables and chairs. Children feel at ease in this space, where they are encouraged to think independently and make choices. Their interests expand through participation in fun, learning experiences.

TMIS administration and general affairs operate at one end of a 3-meter-wide lane, which extends to the TMIS classrooms at the other end. The office provides rooms where teachers and parents can share information and exchange thoughts, removed. from the classrooms to ensure children stay focused on learning.

No classroom can hold the answers to all questions asked by children while learning. Neither can the whole truth be revealed to them only through books. The children need to go out, to perceive the world sensorially, and to allow the world to impact them personally.

Both Minzu Elementary School and a branch of the municipal library are in the immediate vicinity. The community’s 25 parks and diverse art galleries inspire children to explore and appreciate aesthetics. Our children also gain diverse experiences at institutions such as La France à Taiwan, Songshan Airport, and Institute for Information Industry.
