|TMIS – Explore the Atoms and Molecules| Have you ever wondered what would become of a drop of water if it is cut over and over again until it cannot be divided anymore? The children in the Upper Class (9-12 years old) studied the “Atom Theory” last week. We cut out yarns 100, 10, 1, and 0.1 centimeters long and lined them up to feel how small nanometers and picometers are! Our world is constructed of such tiny things called “atoms”! Then the children learned briefly about the great heroes including Dalton, Thomson, and Rutherford, discussed their theory of the construction of atoms, and how they proved their theory through various ways and experiments.
