TMIS│Adolescent Community’s Christmas Dessert Event
TMIS Adolescent Community’s Christmas Dessert Event—A Sweet Success!
We’re delighted to share that our Adolescent Community at TMIS wrapped up a wonderfully successful Christmas dessert sale! This time, our young entrepreneurs crafted Yule log cakes and Christmas wreath breads as their spotlight items, all while applying microeconomic concepts in a real-world setting. From brainstorming and cost analysis to ingredient sourcing, product design, hands-on baking, team collaboration, problem-solving, marketing, customer service, and finally tallying profits, they experienced every facet of running a “real market operation.”
Customer feedback has proven to be our most meaningful measure of success. Instead of simply receiving a score on a test, our adolescents were evaluated by an actual market audience. They’re already planning future business models and looking forward to delighting everyone with even more surprises (and delicious treats) next time!
Below are a few highlights from our parents’ comments, which will guide our students’ continuous growth:
“Absolutely delicious! The cream tastes so fresh, and you can really tell it’s homemade. We feel completely safe giving it to children and elderly folks. We hope you’ll make more tasty treats in the future (please avoid cookies since the Lower and Upper levels are already doing those). Maybe you can offer custom orders? For example, if someone has a birthday coming up, parents could place an order. Thanks for letting us enjoy such fresh, delightful desserts!”
“From the packaging to the cake and bread—even the little note cards—everything was beautifully done. This was a fantastic experience for the adolescent students.”
“Initially, I thought the cake was a bit pricey, but after tasting it, I realized the quality of the ingredients justifies the cost. If you plan to sell to people outside the school, you might consider adjusting the ingredients to lower the price a little.”
“The packaging is lovely, but you do have to be careful when carrying it. Maybe provide a small bag or remind customers to bring an insulated tote. The cake was delicious, adorable, and everyone at our gathering was full of praise. Well done—Bravo!”
Our adolescents continue to learn and grow through hands-on experiences like this. It’s not just a one-time bake sale, but an ongoing learning journey that blends classroom knowledge with real-world applications.
May these lovingly made Christmas desserts bring you all warmth and joy this holiday season.
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas—we can’t wait to surprise you with our next delicious venture!
